The Principal at First Principles.
Proven results.
Hi there. I’m Gavin Bryant.
I’m the founder and principal consultant at First Principles.
I started First Principles because I wanted to help leaders like you to experience the same success that I’ve had with experimentation.
I’ve been on your side of the fence.
I know first hand how frustrating and difficult it can be to struggle with new product development, growth and innovation. Believe me, I’ve experienced it all.
My results speak for themselves.
Over 20 years’ experience and a shelf full of awards.
I’ve conducted experiments at all stages of the product and user lifecycle - Awareness, Acquisition, Onboarding, Retention, Engagement and Monetisation.
I established and scaled the customer experimentation program at AGL Energy. The program has run 1,000+ experiments p.a., tested 50+ new opportunities and saved $14.5M+ by stopping initiatives where there was no customer value.
The AGL Energy experimentation program was market and industry leading, being the largest and most sophisticated of its kind in Australia.
The program has produced three Canstar award winning products, and a Top 3 result in the AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies.
The experimentation team was awarded Finder Most Innovative Team in 2020 and 2021.
“I consider Gavin to be one of the thought leaders in early stage product development in Australia. His knowledge of experimentation is impressive.”
– General Manager, AGL Energy

I’m a regular speaker at national and international conferences, blog author, tweeter (@signalnotnoise) and host of the Experimentation Masters Podcast.
Let’s connect.
Strengthen and improve the quality of your strategy with experimentation.
A good strategy is, in the end, a hypothesis about what may work. All business strategies should be tested and refined through a process of disciplined experimentation.
